The All New 1957 Autoette CruiseAbout

Much of the information in my prior post titled "Auto Electric Car Co." came from Paul Melling, whose father owned the dealership in Pasadena, California. Paul sent along this brochure from 1957 showing the new Autoette CruiseAbout. This brochure is interesting because of the term of ownership of the Autoette company under Wayne Manufacturing Co. of Pomona, California. The Wayne Co., most noted for its power sweepers, purchased the rights to build the Autoette Golfmobile from Blood Sales in 1955 and then the rights to the rest of the line by 1957. A few years later Wayne sold the company back to the principles at Autoette Electric Car Sales and Service while the Wayne Co. pursued its own line of four-wheeled golf cars.
